SUNsational Award
One of FFEA's missions is to encourage and celebrate high standards in the events
industry. The annual FFEA SUNsational Awards Program is designed to recognize those
that contribute to the success and value of the events industry and improve the
quality of life in Florida communities.

Jazz on the Green
Renee Bledsoe, President, Jazz on the Green, received this year's SUNsational Award on August 3, 2006, at FFEA's 12th Annual Convention and Trade Show, held in Bonita Springs, Florida. Nominated by her board chairman, William A. Taylor, Renee was described as dedicated with a capital "D".
Like many event organizers starting new events, she has assumed multiple leadership positions, such as president, sponsorship liaison, accountant, marketing coordinator, webmaster, logistical advisor, and recruiter. Renee’s significant accomplishments have been many over the past seven years. She recreated the existing sponsorship packages and added "Booth" sponsors, "Friends of Jazz", "Children's Pavilion" and
"Wine Tent" sponsorships, resulting in a marked increase in revenues. Renee also increased the event's year round on-line presence by creating an "E-Fan Club" membership which now boast more than 3,500 members.
Her colleagues describe her efforts to recruit, encourage, motivate, train, and empower others as tireless. The Fort Myers community appreciate her volunteerism, especially The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, which is the benefactor of Jazz on the Green.
